Malones is an Irish bar at 242 Morrison Street with a documented, relatively recent Edinburgh history rather than an invented heritage story. Trade reporting traces the brand from Aberdeen in 2009 to a first Edinburgh site in 2010, a closure and intervening pop-ups, then a move to the Morrison Street freehold in 2018. A contemporary design report describes the new bar’s Celtic stained glass, wrought-iron chandeliers and two-level layout. Today the offer is explicitly Guinness, Irish whiskey, live sport and live music, with performers usually Thursday to Sunday.
